Meet the Team
Paul Enever, PhD
Partner
Paul Enever co-founded Evidity Health Capital with Alejandro Sanchez in 2014. He has been working in the healthcare industry with a focus on med tech for nearly 20 years.
Before joining Evidity, Paul was a partner at McKinsey and Company. In his 12 years at McKinsey, he advised leading organizations across the biopharma, med tech, hospital, and healthcare services industries primarily in the U.S. and Europe as well as private equity firms specializing in healthcare. Paul’s work focused on growth strategy, sales and marketing, and licensing and acquisition. Previously, Paul worked within the R&D organization at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals and MIT’s Biotechnology Process Engineering Center.
He sits on the Boards of Directors of Augmedics, Magnolia Medical Technologies, Poseidon Medical, and Standard Molecular.
Paul has a B.S. in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota where he studied wound healing and tissue engineering. For his work, Paul was the recipient of both a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship and the Whitaker Foundation Graduate Fellowship in Biomedical Engineering.

Paul Enever, PhD

Lloyd Appel
Chief Financial Officer
Lloyd Appel joined Evidity in 2021. He has over 25 years of experience in accounting and finance for alternative asset firms, including hedge funds and venture capital funds.
Prior to joining Evidity, Lloyd has been helping several established and start-up venture funds by providing strategic guidance, setting up and maintaining books and records, writing policies, assisting with service provider selections and relationships, and coordinating compliance responsibilities.
From 2008-2019, Lloyd was the CFO of two venture capital firms focused on life sciences and technology, wherehe was typically responsible for all non-investment matters, including compliance, operations, legal, human resources and benefits, insurance, facilities and technology. Before 2008, Lloyd was the CFO or controller of several hedge funds, as well as the controller of a large alternative asset multi-strategy platform.
Lloyd began his career at BDO, where he left as a financial services audit manager after overseven years with the firm. He graduated from Queens College with a B.A. in Accounting and Economics and is a CPA and CFA.

Alejandro Sanchez
Partner
Alejandro Sanchez co-founded Evidity Health Capital with Paul Enever in 2014. He has nearly a decade of experience in PE/VC investing and has been advising boards and C-suite executives in the technology sector on commercialization, operations, and strategy for nearly 20 years.
Prior to joining Evidity, Alejandro was a co-founder and partner of Hermes Growth Partners, where he launched its Telecom, Media, and Technology Fund. He is a former partner at McKinsey and Company, where he worked in the telecom, media, and technology sectors across a diverse set of geographies, including the United States, Russia, Poland, Chile, Brazil, and Venezuela.
He serves on the Boards of Directors of Endogastric Solutions, Poseidon Medical and PreludeDx, and he is a board observer at Akili Interactive Labs.
Alejandro is a systems engineer with an MS in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University.

Adam Lessler, MD
Partner
Adam Lessler joined Evidity in 2015. He is a licensed physician with residency training in emergency medicine and over a decade of healthcare industry experience counseling Boards and senior leadership teams.
Prior to joining Evidity, Adam was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, where he served clients across the health care value chain, with a focus on provider growth and M&A/partnership strategy. Previously, Adam completed his internship in emergency medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and worked as an analyst in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs and as a research assistant in Harvard Medical School’s Department of Health Care Policy.
Adam sits on the Board of Directors of Standard Molecular, and he is a board observer at Magnolia Medical Technologies, PreludeDx and Sonde Health.
Adam has a B.A. in economics from Amherst College, an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.D. from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Lilly Shahidi

Lilly Shahidi joined Evidity as an associate in 2022. Prior to joining Evidity, Lilly spent three years on Wall Street in equity research. Most recently, she worked at Evercore ISI covering the Medical Devices and Supplies sector. Previously, she worked at Guggenheim Partners.
Lilly has a B.A. in economics from New York University.
